For the past 20 years, Dr. Rand has been actively involved in laboratory and field studies on the fate and biological effects of various chemical stressors, including pesticides, on aquatic, terrestrial and wetland ecosystems. He has also conducted ecological risk assessments for the registration of pesticides and drugs, on hazardous waste sites, contaminated effluents and sediments, and for chemical/oil spills. Dr. Rand's current ecotoxicology research interests are focused on the acute and chronic effects of pesticides and other chemicals on ecosystems in Florida.
