Research Interests:

Dr. Briceño's actual areas of research interest reach across the fields of climate and human-induced impacts on the water quality and nutrient cycling in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, Biscayne Bay, Florida Bay, Southwest Florida Shelf, and the Whitewater Bay/Ten Thousand Islands area of Everglades National Park. He is also investigating water quality changes induced by sea-level-rise and tides in South Florida and especially in Miami Beach. Internationally, Dr. Briceño leads water quality monitoring efforts in Bermuda’s coastal waters and evaluates water resources of the Trou Du Nord watershed of Northern Haiti. Also, he has conducted ecological research in major rivers in Venezuela (Orinoco, Ventuari, Cuyuní, Paragua and Caroni River) and Peru (Pastaza River).
