Research

Founded in 1993 in response to a growing regional need for scientific investigations in threatened environments of South Florida, we have established a well-developed research infrastructure, including laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Some of our longest-running projects are focused on the research our scientists do on water quality monitoring and management.

Flagship Programs

Southeast Environmental Research Center is home to three Flagship Programs that highlight specific water and environmental issues within the South Florida region. Some of these issues include environmental contamination, climate and human influences on natural ecosystems, and water quality concerns.
